Local Con Extends Hours to Compete With Wizard World

Wizard World Madison will be here in town next weekend, April 8-10. That’s also the weekend a local science fiction convention, Odyssey Con, will be holding its 16th show. The timing is unfortunate, but instead of getting up in arms about the conflict, OdysseyCon is offering a clever special deal:

Odyssey Con has a special evening pass for after-hour festivities, and for $25 you can join in the fun Friday and Saturday nights! Starting at 6pm, you can get an evening badge at our registration table….

The dealer’s hall and art show hours are being extended an hour so evening fans can check out our vendors’ wares. Plus there are evening panels, gaming rooms, movies, parties, and an evening dance. And our con suite is open late for free food and drink — it’s a great place to eat and mingle.

Odyssey Con is operating Friday from 3-7 pm, Saturday from 10 am – 7 pm, and Sunday from 10 am – 3 pm. Special guests are Margaret Weis, Brandon Sanderson, and of particular interest to comic fans, Marjorie Liu.
