Superhero Sitcom Dies a Quiet Death

Alan Tudyk, Vanessa Hudgens, and Natalie Morales in Powerless

Powerless, the NBC sitcom set in the DC superhero universe, has been pulled from the network schedule. Nine episodes had aired so far, to declining ratings. The remaining three episodes are now unscheduled, even though one of those had a guest appearance by Adam West.

No big loss, since the show was pretty bad, but I was actually about to give it another try. Episodes 7 and 8 featured a guest appearance by Green Fury, played by Natalie Morales, whom I’ve liked since she starred in The Middleman. That was one of the show’s biggest problems: the casting was good, but the writing was terrible.

I looked at the thumbnail and said “Hey, that is Natalie Morales, who I have enjoyed since ‘The Middleman’.”

Of course my immediate second thought was “Of course ‘Powerless’ is cancelled…”

(Of course of course, that x-over with “Supergirl” is now canon SlashFic!)

(I take my small victories where I can get them…)

Oh a part of me thinks neat a cool actress playing one of my favorite characters the JLI Fire. Then I remember how galactically bad Powerless was written and realize I probably didnt miss much.

I still maintain there have been fake tv shows on other shows, that were intentionally written bad. That’s writing was better than this show.
