Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis

The Lego DC Comics movies are always fun and funny to watch. I was looking forward to Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis not just for Aquaman (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker), but for the introduction of the newest Green Lantern, Jessica Cruz (Cristina Milizia). She’s both a new character in the movie and the bonus minifigure, available with the movie for a limited time. (Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a review copy.) As shouldn’t […]

Another DC Superhero Gets a Lego Movie — and a Great Bonus Minifig

Following in the footsteps of Lego DC Super Heroes: The Flash, another classic Justice League member is getting a direct-to-video animated movie. Here’s the trailer: The Justice League — Batman (Troy Baker), Superman (Nolan North), Wonder Woman (Grey Griffin, who also plays Lois Lane), and Cyborg (Khary Payton) — help Aquaman (Dee Bradley Baker) when Atrocitus (Jonathan Adams) and the Red Lanterns — including the angry kitty one! — take over Atlantis in Lego DC Super Heroes: Aquaman: Rage of […]

Black Panther DVD Date, Details Announced

As I suspected, Black Panther will be available on home video on May 15, with digital release a week earlier on May 8. The Blu-ray Combo Pack has been renamed the Multiscreen edition, which means it comes with a digital copy (but no DVD). It’s currently available for preorder at many retailers for $23 or so. There’s a 4K Ultra HD edition that comes with Blu-ray and digital copy for $30. (Does anyone know anyone who’s shelled out for 4K […]

Second DC Super Hero Girls Lego Movie Coming This Spring

DC Super Hero Girls are a bonafide phenomenon, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they’ve expanded into toys and DVDs, including an animated version of them as Lego toys, Lego DC Super Hero Girls: Brain Drain. That movie must have done well, since there’s now another coming out. Lego DC Super Hero Girls: Super-Villain High will be available May 1 on digital and May 15 on DVD. After a mysterious school opens across the street, the students of Super […]

When Is the Black Panther DVD Coming Out?

As you likely know, Black Panther has been a tremendous hit, surpassing all expectations. It’s already in the top ten all-time domestic highest-grossing movie list, and it set a record for best February opening ever. We finally ended up seeing it after it had already been out a month, and even at a first-thing-in-the-morning show on Saturday, the theater was packed. So when will it be available on home video? A release date hasn’t been announced, but release windows these […]

Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: The Flash

Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: The Flash is a cute, fun adventure with plenty of imagination and humor for young viewers. As it opens, Cyborg (Khary Payton) is being shown up by Ace the Bat-Hound, and Superman (Nolan North) and Batman (Troy Baker) are showing new member Atom (Eric Bauza) around the Justice League headquarters. Plastic Man (Tom Kenny), Firestorm (Phil LaMarr), and Wonder Woman (Grey Griffin) join in to respond to a trouble alert. The Joker (Jason Spisak) is […]

Thor: Ragnarok Out on Blu-ray/DVD Today

The third Thor movie (and in some people’s opinions, the best) is out today on home video. Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder — only he’s stuck across the universe without his hammer. He works to escape the Grandmaster’s (Jeff Goldblum) gladiatorial battles with the Hulk and return to Asgard to stop Hela (Cate Blanchett) from bringing about Ragnarok, accompanied by Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson). Thor: Ragnarok is directed […]

I Kill Giants Movie Has Release Date

I Kill Giants was an award-winning comic, collected in 2009, written by Joe Kelly (Action Comics, Deadpool), and illustrated by J.M. Ken Niimura. Now, it’s a movie, written by Kelly and directed by Anders Walter. The poster and trailer suggest fantasy adventure, but there’s an undercurrent (particularly to those who’ve read the book) that escapism is called that for a reason, that there’s usually something to escape from. Is Barbara really fighting giants? With comics, and now, thanks to CGI, […]
