Lucifer Season 4 Due on DVD

I got Netflix to be able to watch Lucifer season 4 when it debuted there last year, because the show is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I realized I had a problem with binging, though. I went through the episodes so quickly that a couple of weeks later, I didn’t remember much of what happened. It’s easy enough to rewatch, of course, or I could just get the complete season of 10 episodes on DVD later this year. Lucifer: […]

Two More Marvel TV Shows Cancelled

Unsurprisingly, the Disney/Fox acquisition continues to have fallout (as is expected when such big deals are done — since the money has to come from somewhere and finances and plans are often reexamined post-merger). Jeph Loeb used to be in charge of the Marvel Television division, but now Marvel movie honcho Kevin Feige has taken over. There were plans for four Marvel animated series to come to Hulu (also owned by Disney), but two have been cancelled according to the […]

Resident Alien Trailer Plays Up Comedy

The Resident Alien TV series announced almost a year ago now has a trailer. While the show was described in terms of a “moral dilemma”, and I speculated it might resemble a procedural, this short video, as you might expect from a show starring Alan Tudyk, plays up the comedy. But then, they’re plugging “from the humans behind Family Guy and Wedding Crashers“, so yeah. The show is “coming this summer” on Syfy. It’s based on the comic book series […]

After Delay, Wynonna Earp Resumes Production

Wynonna Earp — the TV show airing on Syfy, produced by IDW, and based on a comic series — ran into some snags earlier this year. Production was delayed on the upcoming fourth season, and speculation had it that it was due to money problems at IDW Entertainment. However, in early July, it was announced that production was greenlit to start this fall, with Season 4 airing in Summer 2020. IDW was aided by more money from Syfy as “the […]

Lucifer Debuts on Netflix Next Month

So excited that Lucifer got a fourth season! It’s one of my favorite TV shows for goofy fun without too much involvement. Sometimes you just want to be entertained, you know? Here’s a teaser that plays up one of the appealing factors: star Tom Ellis is attractive. We also learn that Eve (Inbar Lavi), as in the original woman, will be a new character, and there’s a nice thank you to the fans. https://twitter.com/LuciferNetflix/status/1114195996802723848 This wordless Netflix teaser takes a […]

Arrow’s Next Season to Be Its Last

Last month, Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen on Arrow, tweeted the following: Arrow will return for a final run of 10 episodes this Fall. Playing Oliver Queen has been the greatest professional experience of my life… but you can’t be a vigilante forever. Arrow will return for a final run of 10 episodes this Fall. There’s so much to say… for now I just want to say thank you. — Stephen Amell (@StephenAmell) March 6, 2019 That will be […]

Legends of Tomorrow Returns April 1

This is one of the most effective TV trailers I’ve seen, capturing the many aspects of the series’ appeal. Legends of Tomorrow is not only fun, it has a sense of humor about itself, and anything can happen on it. How can you not love a show, that in two minutes, * Makes fun of being left out of the last big crossover? * Promises lucha libre wrestling AND a Bollywood dance number? * Has a runaway mummy? * Kidnaps […]

Resident Alien Pilot Going to TV Series

Word came out last summer that Resident Alien, the comic book series by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, was getting a pilot at Syfy. Now publisher Dark Horse has announced the comedic drama has made it to series. Alan Tudyk will play the alien, Harry, who, after taking on the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor, slowly begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his secret mission on Earth — ultimately asking the question, “Are human beings worth saving?” […]
