I’m in a Book About Spider Jerusalem!

About three years ago, I wrote an essay on whether Spider Jerusalem, lead character of Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson, was a superhero. Now, it’s in print in Shot in the Face: A Savage Journey to the Heart of Transmetropolitan, the newest Sequart anthology.

I haven’t seen a copy yet — my contributor copies are on their way to me — so if you get one before I do, let me know what you think. In addition to exploring the series as “a long-form comics masterpiece, a sci-fi comic that succeeded despite the odds, and an examination of journalism and politics”, the book also includes interviews with both Ellis and Robertson.

(Note, if the book makes a profit, then I get some tiny percentage of it, since a small piece of the income is shared across all those authors — but I have an author credit at Amazon!)
