Agent Carter Season 1 Listed as Amazon Exclusive

Although The Flash, with its superhero action and humor, is a fun watch, Agent Carter has a special place in my heart among the comic book TV shows. It’s got that charming retro period setting, for one thing, and for another, it directly addresses sexism, as the men around her ignore Carter’s competence and skills in spite of her achievements. Plus, it’s well-acted, and the short run allowed it to keep adrenaline high without lots of filler.

In case you missed the eight episodes of season one, the DVD set will debut on September 18; it’s also available on Blu-ray. Amazon lists it as an exclusive. That’s not the only recent Disney deal for such; Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Complete Second Season is similarly labeled an “Amazon exclusive”.

Thankfully, ABC is planning a second series of 10 episodes this fall, so we’ll get to see more of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Jarvis (James D’Arcy), and Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper). I’ve previously posted some show promo clips, or here’s a summary video for season 1.
