Faith Gets an Ongoing Series From Valiant

Well, it’s about time. Faith, the Valiant superhero known for her optimism and size, had a four-issue miniseries launch at the end of January. Although public reaction was outstanding — readers were apparently hungry for a superheroine who wasn’t defined by boob size, brokeback poses, or lack of clothing — there was no guarantee we’d see more of her.

Now Valiant has announced that Faith will get an ongoing series starting July 20, spurred perhaps by the demand that has sent Faith #1 to a fifth printing. The title will be written by Jody Houser with art by Pere Perez and Marguerite Sauvage. At the same time will appear a collected edition of the miniseries, titled Hollywood & Vine, introductory priced at $9.99.

In addition to the four covers shown above for the ongoing #1, there will be a fourth cover by Emanuela Lupacchino, a CGC replica variant by Pere Perez, an emoji variant by Swyft Media, an interlocking variant by Pere Perez, a variant by Colleen Coover, and a blank variant. Because that’s what sells comics these days.
