Next Resident Alien Title Announced

Resident Alien: The Man With No Name

Resident Alien is one of those consistently entertaining comic series that doesn’t get talked about because it isn’t flashy and event-driven — it’s just a good read with suspense and interesting characterization. As written by Peter Hogan and illustrated by Steve Parkhouse, it’s about an alien, stranded on earth, who winds up pretending to be a retired small-town doctor and solving murders. The setting of Patience, Washington, allows for a quirky cast, particularly his Native assistant, and the authors being non-American makes their observations more clear and pointed.

There have been three stories so far:

The four-issue miniseries-to-collection format allows for something rare in serialized comics: actual endings. A case wraps up in each volume, although there’s an ongoing thread about a secretive government agency finding out about the alien and trying to track him. The next installment will be Resident Alien: The Man With No Name, with issue #1 appearing September 14, 2016, and the next three issues following monthly. We’re told “Harry investigates a huge, bizarre fire attributed to a possible drug ring, while fending off the investigative prowess of the United States government.”
