Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex, Tron: Legacy) plans to make his directorial debut with an adaptation of Dark Horse’s true-crime detective story Green River Killer by Jeff Jensen and Jonathan Case.

Green River Killer is the story of Jensen’s father Tom, who spent 20 years investigating this case of “the worst serial killer in U.S. history”. Gary Ridgway murdered over 48 women in Seattle. The book explores the detective work needed to catch and prosecute him and won an Eisner Award for Best Reality-Based Work.

Sheen has also written the screenplay and will star as Ridgway. The film will be produced by Sheen, Dark Horse Entertainment, and QC Entertainment, a “recently formed partnership between veteran filmmakers Sean McKittrick and Ted Hamm’s Darko Entertainment and Movie Package Company’s Ray Mansfield and Shaun Redick to finance and produce director-driven films.” QC stands for “Quality Control”, and they were behind this year’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
