Justice League Action Has Debut Date

Justice League Action

The Justice League Action cartoon announced earlier this year now has a release date!

The show, which features the return of Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman and promises a ton of DC superheroes and super-villains, will launch on Cartoon Network next month with a “four-part special event”.

“Shazam Slam” will debut on Friday, December 16, at 6 PM ET. New episodes will air weekly on Saturday mornings, beginning December 24. (What a neat Christmas present!) Here’s the premiere description:

In “Shazam Slam,” the villainous Black Adam battles Batman on the Rock of Eternity and unleashes a horde of Djinn determined to turn the Earth back to its pre-human, volcanic state. Affected by the otherworldly powers of these primordial monsters, Batman becomes possessed and is turned into a giant flying Batmonster laying waste to the Hall of Justice, with only Superman capable of taking the fight to the Dark Knight. One by one, the Justice League — with the help of Shazam (voiced by Sean Astin) and The Wizard (voiced by Carl Reiner) — must hunt down and defeat each Djinn in order to yet again save the world from destruction.

  • Carl Reiner? If I weren’t already sold before, I would be now.

From everything I’ve seen so far, it looks an awful lot like The Brave and the Bold. Fingers crossed for John DiMaggio as Aquaman.

  • I hope so, but I think this one is going heavier on action, lighter on humor (although their still seems to be some, which is good).
