Jem/Misfits Crossover Science Fiction Miniseries Announced

Jem and the Holograms: Infinite #1 cover by Stacey Lee

When news broke a couple of months ago that the ongoing Jem and the Holograms series was ending, there was mention of a new project coming this summer. Now we have details.

There will be two three-issue miniseries, written by series writer Kelly Thompson. Jem and the Holograms: Infinite, art by Stacey Lee (Silk) and The Misfits: Infinite, art by Jenn St-Onge (the current Misfits miniseries), will crossover into one story with an issue shipping ever two weeks starting in June.

The most surprising element? It’s a science fiction story! (As foreshadowed in one of the stories in the Jem and the Holograms Annual 2017.) The bands are going to another world “powered by Synergy Hologram Technology”. Says Thompson, “We decided to go about as big as you can go…other worlds, sci-fi shenanigans, reunions, betrayals, death, destruction, saving the world, and also, of course, music. It’s a really fun change of pace for us, but one that I think completely fits into everything that has come before…. I am not joking around when I say that when this is over, nothing will ever be the same for these characters again.”
