Neat Vampire Show Running on CW Seed

Moonlight

Before he was grumpy military cop on Hawaii Five-O, Alex O’Loughin starred in the 2007 series Moonlight as a modern-day vampire who hooks up with a reporter (Sophia Myles, “The Girl in the Fireplace” on Doctor Who). I started watching it because his vampire mentor is played by Jason Dohring (Veronica Mars), but I was quickly sucked into the moody crime-fighting drama. Emphasis on the drama, as Alex’s character has an ex-wife (who turned him, played by Shannyn Sossamon) and a connection to the reporter as a child. Together, they solve crimes.

Moonlight is enjoyable, and I wish there’d been more of it. It ran one season, 16 episodes, which you can watch now. According to Deadline, Moonlight is now airing on the free digital CW Seed service.
