Another DC Superhero Gets a Lego Movie — and a Great Bonus Minifig

Following in the footsteps of Lego DC Super Heroes: The Flash, another classic Justice League member is getting a direct-to-video animated movie. Here’s the trailer:

The Justice League — Batman (Troy Baker), Superman (Nolan North), Wonder Woman (Grey Griffin, who also plays Lois Lane), and Cyborg (Khary Payton) — help Aquaman (Dee Bradley Baker) when Atrocitus (Jonathan Adams) and the Red Lanterns — including the angry kitty one! — take over Atlantis in Lego DC Super Heroes: Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis, out July 31. As the press release puts it, Aquaman “must relinquish his sovereignty and go on a journey to regain his confidence before returning to his rightful throne.”

Most exciting to me is the presence of Green Lantern Jessica Cruz (Cristina Milizia, who is also voicing the character for DC Super Hero Girls), because she is the bonus on-pack minifigure!

As can be seen in the trailer, also joining the team is Batgirl (Alyson Stoner). New DC Lego superhero characters will include Mera (Susan Eisenberg), Lobo (Fred Tatasciore), and Ocean Master (Trevor Devall). These movies are surprisingly fun — particularly if you like a lighter tone for your DC heroes.
