Justice League: Throne of Atlantis Getting Commemorative Edition

Wonder Woman’s animated movie was re-released last year (with a new extra) to go with the live-action feature film. This year, it’s Aquaman who’s getting a blockbuster theatrical release — so the 2015 Justice League: Throne of Atlantis will have a Commemorative Edition out in November, a month prior. This makes a lot of sense, since the animated film is basically Aquaman’s origin story.

This time, Mera makes the cover! That’s an exciting change. Some may also appreciate that this will be available in 4K Ultra HD. There’s also a new featurette, “Aquaman: The New King” — “An immersive look at Arthur Curry’s evolution from guardian of the ocean to the King of Atlantis and key member of the Justice League” — as well as a new commentary by Mike Carlin and screenwriter Heath Corson. (I’d forgotten it had Captain Marvel (Shazam!) as well.) Justice League: Throne of Atlantis – Commemorative Edition will be available on November 13 in Blu-ray, Ultra HD, or digital editions, no DVD.
