Raina’s New Book Will Have a Million Copies

At the recently passed New York Comic Con, Graphix announced two Raina Telgemeier books coming in 2019. I wrote about them for Good Comics for Kids. Short version:
Guts is another graphic memoir, like her best-selling Smile, but set earlier and tackling more difficult subjects: anxiety, phobias, therapy, and stomachaches. Due out September 2019, it will have an initial print run of one million copies. That’s amazing but well-supported by the size and range of her audience.
Before that, there’s a how-to book encouraging kids to tell their own stories in comics. Share Your Smile: Raina’s Guide to Telling Your Own Story is due in April.
