Final Archie Sales Figures

I finally have the missing number that will complete this year’s Archie sales figures for their entire line. Title Average    Nearest Issue Veronica #187   14,119 13,633 That puts it between Archie & Friends and Jughead in sales rank, and I see that it’s declining when the most recent sales are compared to last year’s average. As for Sonic X, your guess is as good as mine. The numbers weren’t in #29 or #30, the two issues that came out with […]

Rachel Needs Your Help

I’ve had the pleasure of talking with cartoonist Rachel Nabors a couple of times at conventions, and I’ve reviewed several of her comics. All the details are in the link. […]

Title Average    Nearest Issue Archie #581 27,498 28,885 Archie & Friends #116 14,699 13,143 Betty #171 12,731 […]

Who Buys Minx?

Not one of the Minx titles makes the Top 750, nor does any CMX title except for Megatokyo, which is OEL. Looking deep into the Long Tail, Minx’s Plain Janes sells 3201 copies, none of the other four Minx titles even manages to crack a meager 800 copies sold in the bookstore environment. Aren’t those books specifically designed for the bookstores, and the customers that shop there? — Brian Hibbs (link no longer available) I think that’s been assumed, but […]

How Wowio Works for Lone Star Press: An Interview with Bill Williams

In response to my post on Free Comic Book Day rejecting webcomics, Bill Williams of Lone Star Press expressed a lack of surprise, saying The middlemen in the print arena are afraid of getting cut out and do their best to bury the indy digital creators. I have books and comics by Bill Willingham and others available for free at WOWIO and I cannot get a press release run on a major site. I thought this presented intriguing ground for […]
