I hadn’t heard about this until just now, but with these fine stars, I’m likely to go see it.

Guy Ritchie, director of the Sherlock Holmes movies, is currently filming a movie version of The Man From U.N.C.L.E., a remake of the 60s TV show, starring Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) as CIA agent Napoleon Solo and Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger, The Social Network) as KGB agent Illya Kuryakin. They have to team up to save the world, of course; Hugh Grant co-stars. Best of all, it’s set in the 1960s, so the fashions look terrific… and so do the guys!

Superman and the Lone Ranger fight global crime in the Swinging 60s?

I always thought the Bond films would be better as period pieces–they were more fun with ’60s trappings than with the more “realistic” plots we get these days–so this sounds right up my alley.
