Avengers: Age of Ultron Blu-ray Details Announced

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Want to watch Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron over and over again? You’ll be able to this fall, as the movie becomes available for digital rental on September 8, with disc versions coming out October 2.

As you know, the movie once again teams up the Marvel cinematic heroes — Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) — to fight a world-threatening villain. This time it’s self-imposed, as Tony Stark has created Ultron (James Spader), a runaway artificial intelligence. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, the movie also introduced Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, as well as Vision (Paul Bettany).

There’s a 3-D Blu-ray combo that comes with a digital version (list price $39.99), a standard Blu-ray ($32.99), or a DVD edition ($29.99).

There’s a making-of featurette, but the other extras are Blu-ray only, including deleted scenes, a gag reel, and audio commentary. At one point, Amazon.co.uk was promising an “alternate ending”, but it’s unclear whether that’s one of the deleted scenes or not. (I’m guessing not, or the publicity would have mentioned it.) The Blu-ray trailer (below) has glimpses of some of the extras that will be included.
