Next Batman ’66 Adventure in the Future!

Batman '66 meets the Legion of Super-Heroes

Lee Allred has been tweeting about an upcoming comic he’s writing that I’m excited about: Coming in July is a one-shot comic in which Batman ’66 meets the Legion of Super-Heroes, illustrated by his brother, Mike Allred. It’s digital-first, with those installments starting June 14.

The information came from this DC All Access clip, which is light on details, but Allred has posted the following screen captures.

Update: See the end of this post for more release details.

Update: Here’s the cover for the issue and the plot description. Batman ’66 Meets the Legion of Super-Heroes #1 is due out July 19. It can be preordered from your local comic shop with Diamond code MAY17 0289 with a cover price of $3.99.

In pursuit of the time-traveling criminal known as Universo, the super-powered kids from the 30th century travel back to the 1960s to enlist the aid of the “greatest teen superhero ever” — Robin, the Boy Wonder! But Batman’s hard-boiled nemesis Egghead has stolen one of their unattended time bubbles and taken off to the Legion’s own time period. Looks like Batman has to head to the far-flung future with one group of heroes while Robin stays in the swinging sixties with another. Holy time-travel paradox!

I was wondering if you had seen this.

Why they just don’t let Allred do a 60’s-style Legion book is beyond me.

(Though at times, SILVER SURFER comes close.)

“Other Guy” sure looks like Universo to me.

Looks like DC is trying to ramp up for a LSH revival, they’ve also announced a LSH/ Bugs Bunny team-up.

  • And Saturn Girl and Emerald Empress have appeared in the main universe titles recently as well. Universo, good guess.
