Watch Retro Anime for Free (With Ads and App)

A new service, Retro Crush, has just launched that promises classic anime streaming for free (with ads). You can access them by downloading their app for iOS, Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, or Google Play.

I haven’t bothered to check yet, but their publicity claims they have, among other viewings:

  • Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer (based on Rumiko Takahashi’s series about an alien girl in a tiger-stripe bikini)
  • Black Jack: The Movie (based on Osamu Tezuka’s bonkers series about a mad surgeon)
  • Golgo 13: The Movie
  • Galaxy Express 999
  • and several magical girl shows.

I know this is an incredibly half-hearted writeup, but I figured people are looking for more free stuff to do, and others who know a lot more than I do about anime may be able to provide more information.

App is a little rough because you can’t favorite/follow series but only individual episodes. But a lot of old style anime series to be watched, if not really any of the big classics. I’ll stick with Crunchy Roll which you can also watch for free with ads, or can pay a monthly fee to bypass. (Rascal Doesn’t Dream of Bunny Girl, Senpai! is one I highly recommend there.) But fans of older anime might find some stuff there as well.
