Lucifer, Stargirl Soundtracks Now Available

Lucifer: Seasons 1-5 (Original Television Soundtrack)

WaterTower Music, the in-house label for WarnerMedia companies, has digitally released two soundtrack albums.

The one I’m eager for, as readers know, is Lucifer: Seasons 1-5 (Original Television Soundtrack). It contains 13 songs from across the show’s run, “featuring performances by series stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, and Lesley Ann-Brandt, as well as guest star Lindsey Gort and performer Skye Townsend.” You can hear samples of the tracks and select your favorite service from that link above.

Lucifer: Seasons 1-5 (Original Television Soundtrack)

I have a couple of quibbles. First, this is only 24 minutes long. That’s a side effect of only needing bits of songs in show scenes, not full versions. The bigger problem is that it does not include any of the theme song, “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” (used so memorably in the premiere), or “I’m Alright”, which was in the season 4 finale episode as a dance number.

I think the album was just using music done by the various stars of the show, and it wasn’t intended to capture all the musical moments, though. Tom Ellis, who plays Lucifer, is quoted as saying

“The music of Lucifer has been one of the main reasons I have loved playing this role. It rekindles my passion for singing, which ironically started in church when I was a child. Funny old world, isn’t it?”

DC’s Stargirl: Season 1 (Original Television Score)

Also available is DC’s Stargirl: Season 1 (Original Television Score), which for some reason is not available on Amazon. This has 22 tracks by composer Pinar Toprak.
