Scooby-Doo Teams With Krypto in Upcoming Animation

Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too! has been announced as available on September 26… but there’s a catch.

It’s not a bad idea to team up the Scooby-Doo gang with superheroes — I’ve enjoyed seeing the team work with Batman both in animated movies and comic books.

The catch is that you can “buy” a copy of the digital movie on your favorite service on September 26 for $14.99 (or $19.99 at Amazon Prime Video — what’s that about?), or on DVD only at Walmart ($19.98 list price, or $17.95 right now to preorder). Unless you’re in Canada, where the DVD will be available much more widely on October 24.

Making this situation weirder, the whole movie leaked online back in March, because it was one of the projects Warner Bros. Discovery said they were cancelling for tax purposes.

Anyway, in Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too!, the Justice League have vanished and “a terrifying phantom has taken up residence in The Hall of Justice.” (There’s got to be a phantom so the kids have something to rip a mask from! At least, I’m hoping that’s where they’re going.) Also appearing in the 78-minute movie are the Joker, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy, and the expected Superman supporting cast, as you can see in this trailer:

The only special features are three Scooby-Doo episodes:

  • The Scooby of a Thousand Faces!
  • What a Night, for a Dark Knight!
  • One Minute Mysteries! Guest Starring The Flash
