Oni Press Reissues Wet Moon: Feeble Wanderings

Wet Moon is a series of graphic novels by Sophie Campbell about a group of art students in a Southern town. The first volume, Feeble Wanderings, debuted in 2005, with the most recent sixth book appearing in 2012. (A seventh volume has been delayed but is still planned.) Now that Campbell has gained new attention for her work on the Jem and the Holograms, Oni has announced that they will be re-releasing the first volume in a new edition. The […]

Unicorn vs. Goblins: Another Phoebe and Her Unicorn Adventure Available for Pre-Order

I’ve mentioned Unicorn vs. Goblins: Another Phoebe and Her Unicorn Adventure before, but now there’s a cover and a good excuse to remind you how great the Phoebe and Her Unicorn comic strip is. It’s too new to be in this collection, the third, but for example, check out this recent storyline. It starts with Phoebe comparing her friend Marigold to a horse, and Marigold objecting to being misidentified. The storyline continues with Phoebe learning that friendship is more important […]

The Format’s the Thing

A KC Column by KC Carlson In my latest column over at the Westfield Blog, I discussed the new hardcover collection of All-New X-Men Volume 3. Part of my reason for discussing this particular book is that it’s one of the most current books published in what has become, at least for me, my favorite format for collected books. It doesn’t (as yet) have a zippy marketing-friendly name like “Prestige” or “Omnibus”; for now, it’s just referred to as “oversize” […]

Halo and Sprocket Returns

Halo and Sprocket is one of my all-time favorite comics. Its premise of a girl, an angel, and a robot together learning about life in funny ways is timeless and entertaining. Now, thanks to digital, Halo and Sprocket has new life. Kerry Callen is reposting his stories, now in color and with the occasional art fix, to ComiXology. There are two issues available so far. It’s been a while since I’ve read them, but I still recommend them. I hope […]
